MoSan – Field Researcher

Collaborated with WSUP in Kisumu, Kenya to test the MoSan and BadBox. Responsibilities: trial planning, end user interviews, trail results analysis. Achievements: design criteria defined, prototypes successfully trialed. Worked with local staff, and organised local services e.g. translators

Tait Communications – Junior Test Analyst

Nov 2012 – June 2014
Tested embedded software in radios used by public safety and utilities personal. Customers included: NZ Police, Saudi Border Guard, Colorado State Police. Responsibilities: manually testing features, development and maintenance of python-scripted automated tests, and issue management. Achievements: feature test management, and the development of cross-functional usability testing capabilities with the Usability Design team.

Provided live-in care for 518 first year students as part of a 28 person team at the largest residential college at the University of Otago.

At the Dunedin office, l managed experiments, wrote reports, designed devices, read patents, researched, developed concepts and helped out in the workshop.

The University of Otago – Student Researcher

A summer research project to optimise a new innovation. Extreme care and attention to detail was needed to design and conduct experiments, then interpret results.

Developed PooPac, a bioactive, waterproof and biodegradable paper bag for human faeces. Conducted field research in Kenya and biology experiments.

Studied a mixture of Industrial Design, Thermodynamics, and Computer Science. Analysed a single-blade wind-turbine, and graduated with first class honours.
